Florida Bar Recertified Attorneys Roman and Gaynor in Civil Trial

Florida Bar Recertified Attorneys Roman and Gaynor in Civil Trial

Florida Bar Board Certified

The Florida Bar’s Board of Legal Specialization and Education (BLSE) has issued a renewal of Attorney Mark Roman’s and Attorney Morgan Gaynor’s certification in Civil Trial Law. The recertification was effective as of June 1, 2019.

The Civil Trial Law Certification is a professional designation that identifies attorneys as experts in the practice of civil litigation. The certification must be renewed every 5 years, with a recertification process that involves completing an application to demonstrate competency and professionalism, along with a peer review portion. Most important in recertification is a requirement that applicants must continue to try cases to a jury on a regular basis. This helps maintain proficiency and demonstrates a commitment to our civil justice system. The minimum requirements for Civil Trial Law Certification are at least five years of practice, participation in 50 hours of relevant continuing legal education programs during the past three years, “substantial involvement in the specialty of civil trial law,” and “handling of at least 15 contested civil cases.” Board-certified lawyers are held to a standard of excellence by The Florida Bar that goes well beyond the minimum attorney licensing requirements. They must serve as a prime example of ethical, knowledgeable, and skilled legal professionals. Less than 2% of attorneys in Florida are Board Certified in Civil Trial Law.

The recertification is not the only testament to Attorneys Roman and Gaynor’s expertise in civil legal practice. As the lead attorneys of Roman & Gaynor, they have recovered millions of dollars for injury victims in the Clearwater, FL area. Mark Roman is a member of the Million Dollar and Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, has been recognized as one of Tampa Bay’s “Top Lawyers,” and is rated at 10/10 by Avvo and “AV Preeminent” by Martindale-Hubbell. He is a Chairman of the Florida Bar Grievance Committee in Pasco County and has served on the Florida Bar Grievance Committee for Pinellas County in the past. Morgan Gaynor is a member of the Pasco County Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee and has written for the Florida Discovery Practice Handbook, a publication which is utilized by many Florida attorneys and judges.

Congratulations to Attorney Mark Roman and Attorney Morgan Gaynor on being recognized as certified Civil Trial lawyers once again!
